Lead Software Architect

Job Description:
Neterion software team is delivering cutting edge software for the next generation of 10Gigabit Ethernet Server and Blade Networking. Our software and hardware enables virtualization of the most demanding I/O applications, and allows running different types of traffic (networking, storage and cluster) over the same 10 Gb Ethernet fabric.
Job Responsibilities:
 |
Lead architecture and design for Neterion 10GbE host/device interfaces for virtualized and converged 10GbE server networking. |
 |
Detailed knowledge of L2-L5 networking, including protocols like iSCSI and iWARP. |
 |
Experience with open source projects. |
 |
Hand-on experience with network device drivers. |
 |
Experience with hardware/software tradeoffs. |
 |
Experience with specifying state machines is desirable. |
 |
Strong interest in high speed networking is a desirable. |
 |
Desire to become a part of small and competent start-up software team is a plus. |

Lead Software Engineer - Network Device Drivers and Protocols

The successful candidate will own one or more software projects for Neterion 10GbE NICs and Offload Engines under Linux and/or Unix and/or Windows Operating systems.
Job Responsibilities:

Design and implement legacy, single and multi root virtualized network drivers. |
 |
Own the design, and implementation of the kernel components, including project infrastructure and data path |
 |
Collaborate with the open source Linux community: contribute patches, participate in the discussions, introduce and defend new possible directions |
 |
Write and execute automated unit and component tests |
 |
Work with the rest of the team to formulate and prioritize requirements |
 |
Take full responsibility to deliver on schedule and according to the requirements |
Job Requirements:
 |
5+ years of industry experience |
 |
Track record that demonstrates high technical competence and experience with Linux kernel development |
 |
2+ years of experience with Linux storage and/or networking drivers |
 |
Lead and hands-on role in the previous Linux kernel projects, from design to delivery. |
 |
Proficiency in high-speed networking, PCI IOV, Vmware and Xen is a plus. |

Participation in Linux open source projects is a plus |
 |
BS/BA in Computer Science, M.Sc. is a plus |

Senior Systems Engineer

This is an technical sales / customer facing engineering role, and represents a unique opportunity for a technical individual to transcend engineering by developing sales and marketing expertise.
The successful candidate will:

Develop technical relationships with key OEM engineers and engineering managers. |
 |
Understand customer requirements while positioning and evangelizing our technology. |
 |
Interface internally with Engineering, Operations, Sales, and R&D to resolve customer issues. |
 |
Provide post-sale engineering support to our customers, including hardware bring-up, system integration, and assistance with driver development. |
 |
Produce technical documentation including ECN notices, hardware errata, and application notices. |
Other activities are possible depending on the candidate's interests.
This position will involve some travelling (up to 25% on an as-needed basis) and may also include occasional trips abroad.
Job Requirements:
 |
5+ years experience in a technical role. |
 |
Experience in networking, including TCP/IP and Ethernet. |
 |
Understanding of PCI-X and PCIe protocols and devices. |
 |
Hands-on experience with logic analyzers and test equipment. |
 |
Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. |
 |
Background in ASIC/FPGA design/verification or operating system driver development preferred. Programming skills (C, Perl, etc) desirable. |
 |
Prior experience in a technical sales and customer interface role highly desired. |
